Lea is a principal in Douglass Winthrop Advisors, LLC. Previously, Lea was a Vice President in the Private Banking Group at U.S. Trust Company, where she served as a trust and custody specialist for high net worth individuals and families. 

Lea is on the board of the Open Space Institute and the Adirondack Foundation, and serves as treasurer of the Coby Foundation. She is a past trustee of The Chapin School, The St. Bernard’s School and the Museum of the City of New York.

Lea graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College. She completed the New York Bankers Association Essentials of Trust Administration program in 1990 and received her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification in 1994.  She became a Full Member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) in 2021.
